We are very excited about our first concert on Sunday Nov. 19th at 1:30pm. It has been a long-time dream of mine to start a chamber music series at Bethany, and I am over the moon for this inaugural season! Tim Munro and I both felt the desire to create a space where our talented musician friends can come together and share music with the community. I am thrilled to be joined by long time friends Keven Keys, Yvonne Lam, and Dan O’Connell. Keven, in my opinion, has the most beautiful voice. I had always insisted that we play more recitals together, and I am so excited to collaborate with him again. Mahler’s Rückert Lieder is so heartbreakingly beautiful, and Copland’s Old American Songs are so familiar, so fun, and so satisfying. Brahms is one of my all time favorite composers. His rich harmony, the depth of colors, and such tight structure all combined makes it a joy to perform. Both Yvonne and Dan are such sensitive musicians, and it has been so much fun to rehearse this piece. We have been friends for a long time, and we have truly enjoyed working on this piece. I hope you’ll join us on Nov. 19th and experience it for yourself.
